About the Author
Ted Simpson is a long-time Course Technology author. He has been working, teaching, and writing about computers for over 20 years. In 1990, Simpson wrote one of the first books in the Course Technology Networking series, Hands-On Netware 3.11. Ted has used virtualization software to aid in teaching computer lab classes for several years, and has given presentations on virtualization for Course Technology conferences. Ted is currently a certified Novell and Microsoft instructor at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College, and the author of many books, including Hands-On Novell Open Enterprise Server, Guide to Novell Netware Administration Enhanced Edition, 70-270, 70-290: MCSE/MCSA Guide to Installing and Managing Microsoft XP Professional and Windows Server 2003, and Virtual Machines Companion, all of which are written for use with virtualization. In addition to classroom teaching and industry training, Ted has been developing curricula for microcomputer related courses since the 1980s and holds the following certifications: A+, Network+, NetWare 6 CNE and CNI, and MCSE.

Doing Grammar helps in learning to understand and describe grammar

I teach descriptive English grammar to undergraduate students in a Communication Disorders major; most of these students are aiming for careers in speech-language pathology. These students will need to understand grammatical terms used in textbooks, journal articles, test manuals, and clinical reports, and they will need to write reports describing the language skills of individual children or adults. Doing Grammar is an accessible and interesting resource in learning to understand enough about grammar to perform those tasks.

Morenberg provides detailed explanations of the principles of English grammar, along with practical advice on how to use these principles when constructing sentences. He also demonstrates how a mastery of different grammatical forms can make writing more readable and interesting. The answer key at the back of the book is a little hard to follow because, to save space, the author uses lines and labels rather than trees. Overall, this is a useful and insightful book.

Perfect condition and so helpful for rethinking the concepts related to grammar. I took a course using this book, and I recieved the highest grade in the class at a 97.3%. For grammar, that is an excellent grade. I would recommend this book to anyone, especially those wanting to re-teach themselves grammar in the least painful way.

I was really happy with this Oz journal. The quality was better than expected and the quotes scattered throughout the pages were adorable. The quotes also say which books they are from and makes me want to purchase some of those books so I can read more. Nice wi rebound journal with hard cover...so it's easy to lay flat when writing. Great graphics and design, nice smooth good quality paper....nicely spaced lines, cream colored paper, little quotes and graphics on the bottom corner of some of the pages. Very sweet journal.

im a fan of anna, i love the program sugar and in fact i used to own a dvd of season 1, where she gaves the best tips to all desserts came out great, i think the book acomplish the goal have the recipes, but i have the felling that something is missig some more tips, and of course i think we need more images of the final product there are a few of them.

I loved the the last edition, I would not dare miss the new lol! Thank you. This book will take you from Beginner to Advanced Linux Concepts. I am a Linux Engineer and I can't say how much of a blessing this book has been to me. It has literally saved my butt quite a few times! Thanks Wale!

For beginners, and for people who have only limited experience This book is best in the sense that it slowly makes you comfortable with Linux concepts without inhibiting - the author uses wit and makes it very readable and personal. It is not just a how-to book but why-so book too.

Warning - The title is a lie.

The title of this book is a lie. And in the first few pages, the author openly tells you so. It says it's for "beginners," but it is actually written for server admins who are already familiar with Microsoft server administration but who want to dabble in or learn Linux. They actually say in the first few pages they assume you are already a "power user" with such software. Stupid: Say a book is for beginners, then assume your readers are already power users with similarly purposed, expensive software solutions. Why would an author write a book for "beginners" who want to learn free, open-source software, while assuming their readers are already familiar with expensive, Microsoft proprietary software? Yeah, I don't know either, but that is the, um, misguided, perspective they took with this book. They say the reason is that they didn't want to write a book "for dummies" where you just learned what to click or type here and there without knowing the why behind it, but their result is just the opposite of what they say they intended. If you assume your reader is already familiar with the concepts and the "why" with other similar software, then you don't apparently feel the need to really explain the why with the software your teaching. In truth, they do explain the "why," just not the "why" you really need as a beginner. They explain the "why," only in relation to the Microsoft software (i.e., Microsoft server software does it this way, here is why Linux does it differently and how it is better...) Problem is, if you're a beginner trying to learn the free software before shelling out the money for the Microsoft products, you need the underlying "why" and "how," not just a why in relation to how other similar software solutions do it. And why assume that a book "for dummies" would necessarily have to just teach "what to click or type here or there" rather than explaining the "why" anyway?? Why couldn't a book "for dummies," or true beginners, explain the fundamental "why's?" It may seem harsh to leave only one star, because the book could be far worse. If they didn't lie to you, and you are not a true beginner, the book is useful. Otherwise, you'll just feel angry they couldn't actually teach it the way a true beginner needs it taught. But, lying up front, in the title of the book itself, is a pretty fatal flaw in my view. It simply doesn't serve the purpose it set for itself. It is not a guide for beginners.

Good book

This book is very informative on all aspects of cocaine and THC. Gives detailed instructions of synthesis of the two chemicals in a step by step manner. Although I must say the synthesis part is not for everyone, and normal layman, or home chemist, without a solid degree in organic chemistry will be banging their head on the wall trying to figure things out. Other than that the history, medical uses, and origins of cocaine and THC is written in a very easy to understand form. I really like this book and basically ever other book by Otto Snow. This book also isn't to much of clandestine cookbook, but do let me scare you away if your plans were anything like mine :)
