The point of this release?

Becky Wade is one of my favorite authors but I don't really understand the reason for this release. It's sort of a mini novella that really should've been only fifty cents it's so short. Like another reviewer said it's a 3.5 installment of the Porter family series. I do like the characters Amber and Will. I enjoyed learning about them and their story in the third Porter family book. Amber and her son were also part of the first Porter family book. I wish the story had been a full novella. I'm giving 3 stars only because I really like Becky Wade's writing.

Just a sweet taste

Yes, it's sweet and Yes, its Short in length. Its also a clean story. I like clever wording; I'm a sucker for it. "This blowout was merely the straw that broke the nativity camel's back". Now that is a perfect example of just what I am talking about. Amber also describes how some of the "joys" of Christmas preparations could wear you down. She was worn out AND carrying some guilt about the smaller amount of family that surrounds her son. Sounds a lot like something most mom's can identify with. One of the reasons is that its been at least a decade since the last time she has seen her own mother and father. Will sounds like a sweetie, someone she loves and can count on.

Short and sweet...

This is a cute, short story. It took me about 20 minutes to read and the title pretty much sums up the story. Amber is on her way to drop off her boyfriend's phone at the firehouse when her car breaks down, and she has time to reflect on their relationship. When she makes it to the fire station, strange things happen. Since it is so short, there isn't time to develop characters. Basically look at this as a cheery glimpse into someone else's important life moment and you'll be fine.
The novella is a tie in to the Porter Family series. The first book in that series is called Undeniably Yours and centers around Meg, Amber's best friend. The other three books in the series are Meant to Be, A Love Like Ours, and Her One and Only. The fourth book is scheduled to come out May 2016.
All in all, this was a cute story I was able to read for free. It was so short, I don't think I would have paid for it, but it's a nice read for Christmas time.
